Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham partners with WeXL AI to make 6,500 students career-ready

Seven Amrita campuses adopt WeXL's AI English and business communication programme, with every student's progress measured from baseline to final test.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has partnered with WeXL AI to prepare 6,500 students for careers in multinational companies. The programme runs across seven Amrita campuses: Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Mysuru and Amaravati.

The partnership was announced by Dr. Balakrishnan Shankar, Dean, Amrita School of Engineering; Brahmachari Vishwanathamrita Chaitanya, Head, Corporate and Industrial Relations; and WeXL founders Naveen Kumar Linga and Bharat Akkinepalli.

“Employers hire for confident communication, and universities need to show that their graduates have it. With Amrita, every student starts with a measured score, practises with live AI feedback, and finishes with proof of how far they have come.”

How the programme works

One academic year, four steps, the same AI scoring at the start and the end.

  1. Baseline test. Every student takes the Bharat English Test (BET) across speaking, listening, reading and writing, and gets a skills report card on day one.
  2. AI Business Communication Gym. Classroom sessions on a smartboard where every student speaks on a topic and gets live AI feedback on pronunciation, fluency and confidence. The whole class learns from each round, with no extra load on faculty.
  3. FluentEdge personal learning path. Each student’s BET score sets their starting level on nine levels mapped to the international CEFR scale (A1 to C2). Lessons focus on workplace English: business reports, project proposals, corporate emails and interviews.
  4. Final test. Students retake BET at the end of the year. Amrita sees the gain for every student, department and campus, and students receive a CEFR-mapped certificate for placements and higher studies.

Why it matters

Employers hire for communication as much as for subject knowledge, yet most colleges can’t show where each student stands, or whether training moved the needle. This programme answers both questions with a number.

BET and FluentEdge run on WeXL’s own AI scoring models, already used by over a million learners. Our patent application for the AI language learning system behind them has been published.

For other universities

The same programme is available to any university or college that wants placement readiness it can measure. Talk to us about running it on your campus.
